Route Coordinator - Permanent Position - $50,900

Requirements:

  • Extensive hands-on experience of database.
  • Strong knowledge of database structure and database relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office suite.

 

Description of Duties:

  • [Data and System Integration]
    • Ensures accurate and complete data is received in the transportation routing system from various stakeholders, such as central registration and special education.
    • Ensures accurate and complete student route information is displayed in the student information system.
    • Ensures prior year student and route data are rolled over into the new school year.
    • Ensures student information, routing information, GPS information, and communication tool are seamlessly integrated.

 [Eligibility Determination]

    • Determines student transportation eligibility based on District policies, regulations and procedures.

 [Routing]

    • Develops and updates student transportation routes and maintains daily student, eligibility and route data.
    • Collects adjustment input from the drivers and dispatchers, reviews and communicates to drivers’ and supervisors’ requests, makes appropriate adjustments.
    • Coordinates non-to/from routes, such as mid-day trips and athletic trips, from schools and offices.

 [Route Efficiency]

    • Reviews GPS data on a regular basis and monitor route performance and proactively make route adjustments and communicate to all parties.
    • Conducts field surveys, driver and route audits and mileage checks to compute time, efficiency of route and to ensure more efficient allocation of resources.

 [Communication and Customer Service]

    • Sends parent communicate to all bus drivers in the beginning of the school year. The families must receive the bus information 2 weeks before the school opening at the latest.
    • Communicate route changes to drivers, dispatching office, schools, students and parents in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Handles customer concerns from schools and parents.
    • Periodically visits schools to check in.

 [Other Duties]

    • Collects and reviews daily sign-in and sign-out data, compares the employee attendance data against the route information, reviews the findings with the Supervisor before submitting the information to the payroll department.
    • Supports the operations, such as dispatching, ordering bus parts, recruiting and training, and credential checks.
    • Assists the Supervisor of Transportation in preparing and filing for the Transportation subsidy.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
