Length of Program: December 1, 2020-May 27, 2021
24 weeks/72 days –Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
Location: Virtual program for Title I students at Highland Park, Westbrook Park, Charles Kelly, Walter Senkow, Stonehurst Hills, Bywood, Kindergarten Center. Tutoring program will be cross-grouped among schools and taught all virtually.
Compensation: $35.00 per hour, plus up to 20 additional hours for organizing tutoring groups and maintaining records. Not to exceed $3220 total compensation.
Hours: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Position Opening: Immediately
Closing: November 20th or when position is filled
Number of Positions: 1
Goals: To close the achievement gap among students in grades K-5 and ensure they demonstrate at least one years worth of growth in reading and mathematics.
Qualifications / Requirements:
*Coordinate with building principals to identify students who should be offered
tutoring, notify those families, and place interested students into virtual tutoring groups (cross grouped among the 6 schools)
*Identify appropriate intervention program and provide training to teachers, as needed
*Mandatory commitment of 24 weeks
*Maintain records of students enrolled and review data with Principals
*Communicate student progress to classroom teacher and parents as required
*Appropriate PA Teaching Certificate I or II required
*Elementary teaching experience preferred
*Experience with Sonday, Rewards, Read Naturally and Intervention Station
*Strong organizational skills required
*Must be able to meet the physical/sensory demands of the position
