Length of Program: December 1, 2020-May 27, 2021
24 weeks/72 days –Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
Locations: Virtual program for Title I students at Highland Park, Westbrook Park, Charles Kelly, Walter Senkow, Stonehurst Hills, Bywood, Kindergarten Center. Students will be cross-grouped among buildings. Teachers will tutor small groups, virtually.
Compensation: $35.00 per hour, not to exceed $2520 total compensation
Hours: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Position Opening: Immediately
Closing: November 20th or when positions are filled
Number of Positions: Determined based on total number of students, with a target of groups no larger than 12 students
Goals: To close the achievement gap among students in grades K-5 and ensure they demonstrate at least one years worth of growth in reading and mathematics
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Mandatory commitment to teach all 24 weeks
- Maintain records of students enrolled and review data with Principal and Program Coordinator
- Appropriate PA Teaching Certificate I or II required
- Elementary teaching experience preferred
- Experience with Sonday, Rewards, Read Naturally and Intervention Station
- Some original lesson planning using student data required
- Strong organizational skills required
- Must be able to meet the physical/sensory demands of the position
